It was a packed house at Carnac Group’s first breakfast seminar this week on the digitisation of the construction industry at Salesforce head office in Sydney.
Many key players were there to explore the opportunities and challenges technology presents the construction sector.
Carnac Group Director, Vincent Motte, opened the seminar. Vincent spoke about technology trends in construction. First Vincent showed how the construction sector lags many others in adopting new technology. And that it is only a matter of time for construction businesses to embrace technology or lose out to competitors over the long term. Vincent then explored how construction businesses could find their competitive edge.
Ivan Bate, Transformation Manager at Western Earthmoving (WEM) then joined Vincent. Ivan revealed WEM’s own digital transformation journey, including some of WEM’s challenges and objectives. He also shared the importance of shifting the perception of technology from being a back office function to being indispensable out on site. WEM continues to work with Carnac Group as its strategic technology and Salesforce partner transforming their business.
